To improve conditions for nurturing a new generation of young athletes, the Sports Bureau has established a number of training infrastructures since 2003, including Football Youth Academy, Tennis Youth Academy, Table Tennis Youth Academy and Martial Arts Youth Academy. By providing continuously systematic and scientific training to talented children and teenagers, these Academies endeavour to strengthen students’ fundamental skills and provide a gateway for continued development in an attempt to expand athletic teams and nurture young successors.
In order to recruit and train potential teenage athletes, these Academies and relevant sports associations organise ‘recruitment days’ for Football, Tennis and Table Tennis Youth Academies in order to seek potential teenage and child candidates who are enthusiastic about sports to join team coaching.
