The 2021 Sands China Macao International 10K, jointly organized by the Sports Bureau and the General Association of Athletics of Macau, will be held on 11 April. The two race categories, namely Fun Run and 10K, will start at 0700 and 0730 respectively at Sai Van Lake Square. Both races will finish at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium.
Bibs, timing chips and identification wristbands are available for collection from tomorrow
Participants of the 2021 Sands China Macao International 10K may collect their bibs, timing chips, identification wristbands (as part of anti-epidemic measures) and information documents, at 1200-2100 from 7 to 9 April, and at 1200-2200 on 10 April at the Olympic Sports Centre Indoor Pavilion, by presenting their registration receipt, ID document and proof of a valid negative COVID-19 test result (inclusive of race day).
Participants who are unable to collect the items may authorize another person to collect on his/her behalf by signing the authorization on the registration receipt, and the person collecting on behalf of the participants must present his/her ID, the receipt with signature and a copy of the participant’s ID plus proof of a valid negative COVID-19 test result with the participant’s name. Participants are reminded to keep the bib, timing chip and wristband safe as inspection will be carried out on race day.
Participants should comply anti-epidemic measures and arrangements
In order to provide safe conditions for the participants, the Organizing Committee will follow the anti-epidemic guidelines issued by the Health Bureau and adopt preventive measures. Participants are required to show proof of a valid negative COVID-19 test result, all individuals are required to undergo body temperature checks upon entering the venue, and spectators and staff are required to present a valid “Macao Health Code” and wear face masks at all times.
Participants may logon to https://app.ssm.gov.mo/sandsmacao10krnabook to make an appointment for a COVID-19 test. Upon making an appointment, participants should bring the ID document that they used for race registration to the testing site at the appointed time. No testing fee is required. Non-Macao residents who registered with a document other than their passport should also bring along their passport or Non-resident Worker’s Identification Card for the test.
The Organizing Committee also reminds all participants that they must comply with Macao’s Law No. 2/2004 on the Prevention, Control and Treatment of Infectious Diseases, pay attention to and cooperate with the anti-epidemic measures of the Macao SAR Government.
Costume Award to elevate the atmosphere of the event
In order to enhance the atmosphere of the event, the organizer is holding the “Sands 10K Presents: The FUNKiest Costume Award”. Participants taking part in the 10K or the Fun Run are welcome to join the contest. On the race day, participants who complete the race in a costume that showcases the diverse cultural characteristics of Macao may approach staff at the finish point to take a photo and fill out the required information to enter for the award. Ten winners will be selected who will be awarded hotel accommodation and F&B vouchers.
