The 2020 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon, jointly organized by the Sports Bureau and the General Association of Athletics of Macau, will be held on 6 December, and preparations are currently underway.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Macao SAR Government has adopted a series of preventive measures at different stages, which have proven effective. With the regular implementation of anti-pandemic measures, the government will continue to adhere to the strategy of “normalizing epidemic prevention and control”. During the preparations for the 2020 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon, the Organizing Committee has been closely monitoring the development of the pandemic and maintaining communication with the Health Bureau. The Organizing Committee has also formulated plans and taken corresponding measures based on the Health Bureau’s advice and guidelines to ensure safe conditions for the races.
According to the Health Bureau’s anti-pandemic guidelines, participants must undergo a nucleic acid test for COVID-19 before the races. For this reason, the Organizing Committee has made the following nucleic acid test arrangements in coordination with the Health Bureau:
All participants are required to log in to the following website to make an appointment: https://app.ssm.gov.mo/marathonrnabook. The participant’s name and identity document information provided upon registration are required;
All participants must bring along their event registration slip and identity document presented at the time of registration to the testing site at the appointed time, and are not required to pay a testing fee. Non-Macao residents who registered with a document other than their passport, such as a Non-resident Worker’s Identification Card, should also bring along their passports for the test.
To ensure safe conditions for the races, the Organizing Committee will continue to closely monitor the development of the pandemic. In addition to the above nucleic acid test arrangements, anti-pandemic measures will also be implemented during the races in accordance with the guidelines of the Health Bureau, which will require all individuals to undergo body temperature checks and present a valid “Macao Health Code” upon entering the venue, and for spectators and staff to wear face masks at all times.
Furthermore, the Organizing Committee would like to remind all participants to comply with Law No. 2/2004 of the Macao SAR – “Law on the Prevention, Control and Treatment of Infectious Diseases”, and to pay attention to and cooperate with the Macau SAR Government’s anti-pandemic measures and quarantine requirements upon arrival. The Organizing Committee would also like to remind all participants to practice and prepare for the races as their level of fitness permits, and to read the regulations carefully.
