Participating teams in the 2019 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cup Regatta & Macao Cup International Regatta entered the third day of the competition fighting for leading positions in the standings. At the end of today’s races, Team Wan Boo Fish Sailing from Macao and Team WYC Lake Constance from Germany hold the lead in the standings of the Greater Bay Area Cup Regatta and the Macao Cup International Regatta respectively.
In the fiercely fought Macao Cup International Regatta, Team Subic Sailing/Turquoise from the Philippines upped their performance to win the first race of the day. With a fourth place finish in the second race, they secured the Daily Award and moved up to third place in the overall standings of the Regatta. Team 100 from Estonia are the winning team in the second race today. One second-place and one third-place finishes by Team WYC Lake Constance from Germany ensured they maintained the overall lead with 12 points. Team Marenostrum Racing Club from France are just one point behind in second place.
In the Greater Bay Area Cup Regatta, Macao teams SUGRAM and Wan Boo Fish Sailing won one race each in today’s two race rounds. The Daily Award, however, went to Team BLU from Hong Kong thanks to their two second-place finishes. After three days of action, Team Wan Boo Fish Sailing tops the standing with 6 points. Team BLU are closely behind on 7 points and Team SUGRAM are a further point adrift in third place.
All participating teams will continue to demonstrate their best effort to fight for the champions trophy in the regattas. The Closing Ceremony and Overall Awards Presentation will take place at 7pm tomorrow (13 January) at the Rossio Square of the Macau Fisherman’s Wharf.
