The FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Macao, presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, will be held at the Macao Forum from 2 to 4 August. The four participating teams – Bulgaria, China, Cuba and the Netherlands – arrived in the city today to undergo final preparations for this highly anticipated event.
Host China, led by head coach Lang Ping, were the first team to arrive when their flight touch down at the Macao International Airport at noon. They were greeted by José Tavares, President of the Organizing Committee of the Macao leg. In the afternoon, the team underwent their first training session as well as taking part in a promotional event at the famous Leal Senado Square, where they received warm welcome from the citizens and volleyball fans. Cuba, Bulgaria and the Netherlands also arrived in the city during the course of the day under the frenzy of the FIVB World Grand Prix.
The pre-event press conference will be held on 1 August, when the press will be given the opportunity to ask the head coaches about their expectations of the Macao leg as well as the form of their key players.
