The“New Year's Recreational Activities for the Persons with Disabilities”, hosted by the Sports Bureau and co-organized by the Macau Special Olympics, Macau–China Paralympic Committee Macau–China Recreation and Sports Association for the Disabled, took place on February 17 at Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park. Division Head of the Sports Bureau, Lou I Wan, stated that the Sports Bureau has been concerning about how the disabled and individuals with special needs were involved in sports and has been cooperating with the Macau Special Olympics, Macau–China Paralympic Committee Macau–China Recreation and Sports Association for the Disabled, in the hope to encourage the disabled and individuals with special needs to get involved in the neighborhood and social life, by hosting sports and leisure activities for them.

The event started at 2:00 in the afternoon. There were stall games, group performances and sports competitions such as the sign language performance and wheelchair Tai Chi, so that the residents who participated could celebrate the festival together, which conveyed the message about the integration between the disabled and the public.
