Five final matches of the“Macau Open Badminton Championships”were held at the East Asian Game Dome in the evening on January 28. The women's singles became the focus. Pui Chi Wa, aged less than 14, defeated last year's champion Ao I Kuan in two consecutive rounds in the women's singles final, becoming the youngest Macao champion in the record of the Badminton Federation of Macau. She stated after the competition, “I felt very happy and excited that I won the champion in the women's singles. In the future, I will continue to work hard and gain more opportunities to compete in a place other than Macao.

Pui Chi Wa, who was just qualified to compete in a Macao event, defeated the top seed Ng Weng Chi in the round robin and showed her potential. In the match which decided the champion, Pui Chi Wa encountered Ao I Kuan, who strove to defend the champion title, and she showed her strength again.

She won the first match with 21:10 and then the second match with 21:14. Eventually, she won the champion title in Macao women's singles at the age of 13, breaking Macao's record of the youngest badminton champion, which was set by her brother Pui Pang Fong three years ago, when he won the champion title at the age of 15.

Pui Pang Fong, who concentrated on training after the Indonesian Asian Game, encountered Tai Kin Hei in the men's singles final. Pui Pang Fong kept his edge over his opponent, as he defeated Tai Kin Hei with 21:6 and 21:5 in 26 minutes, winning the men's singles champion again after two years. In the mixed doubles final, Pui Pang Fong partnered up with Chau Ka Hei. After losing the first match with 12:21, they caught up in two consecutive matches with 21:17 and 21:16. Finally they defeated Ng Chi Chong/ Wong Kit Ieng with 2:1 in matches.

In the men's doubles final, Lam Chi Man / Leong Kin Fai continued their“invincible legend”, as they defeated Ng Chi Chong / Bao Wen Zhong with 21:15 and 21:12, winning the men's doubles champion in 13 consecutive years. Chau Ka Hei / Gong Xue Xin lost to Ng Weng Chi / Wong Kit Ieng with 17:21 in the first match of the women's doubles final. Then they caught up with 21:12 in the second round and won again with 21:17 in the third match. They won the women's doubles champion with 2:1 in matches.
