The Sports Bureau hosted a brand new "sports for all" event – the "2017 Cheerful Outdoor Walk-in-Motion" on 26th November. The Head of Sports Development Department of Sports Bureau, Chao Kuok Wai, stated that in the future the Sports Bureau would organize more diverse types of sports and leisure events for the residents under suitable circumstances in order to create a sporty atmosphere in the city.
Participants of the "Cheerful Outdoor Walk-in-Motion" were divided into groups. On the day of the event, participants first engaged in group-based sports and leisure activities in the Don Bosco Youth Village, then they went to the Ká-Hó Reservoir Picnic Park Lakeside Walk and circled it, having passed by Estr. de Nossa Sra. de Ka Ho and Estr. da Barragem de Ka Ho. On the way, participants passed by four checkpoints, at each of which they engaged in an interesting sports and leisure activity. Upon the completion of the event, participants returned to the Don Bosco Youth Village. The entire route of the Cheerful Outdoor Walk-in-Motion covered around 2 kilometres. The organizers expected to help participants build up confidence, to enhance their problem-solving abilities, and to nurture team spirit in mutual collaborations through the interactive sports and leisure activities. Meanwhile, it was also expected that by this event residents were encouraged to engage in healthy walks and to cultivate healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly.
