The "2017 Macau Open International Taekwondo Championships", which was hosted by the Macau Taekwondo Association, took place from 28 to 30 October at the Olympic Sports Centre Indoor Stadium, Taipa. The Macao team achieved fruitful results, winning the place of the second best team in the poomsae event with 15 golds, 16 silvers and 11 bronzes in the individual, mixed doubles and team poomsae events in different groups held on the first day.

　　After the poomsae events on the first day and the sparring matches on the second, the sparring matches of youth teen and adult groups of the senior category, of which the performance level was the highest, took place on the third day. The Macao team performed their best in the sparring matches of the senior category. In particular, Ng Chi Hou, Lao Cheng, Kou Hou Kit, Chan Iek Hong and Chan Chi Kun won 5 gold medals, helping the whole home team win the group champion of the sparring event of the senior category, with 5 gold, 5 silvers and 2 bronzes. Selangor from Malaysia and the Eastern Dragon Taekwondo Federation Hong Kong won the first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.
