On 14 and 15 October, the team sent by the Macau-China Paralympic Committee & Macau-China Recreation and Sports Association for the Disabled took part in the first IWAS Wheelchair Fencing Satellite Championship in Kyoto, Japan. Lao In I, a Macao contestant, was awarded a gold medal in the Women's individual foil event.

　　Contestants from five countries and regions namely Japan, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong and Macao joined this championship. The Macao athlete, Lao In I, in the Women's individual foil group competition broke into the elimination rounds on the first day by winning by a landslide as a group. In the mixed sabre event on the following day, Lao In I broke into the elimination rounds successfully with a result of 2 wins and 3 losses in the group contests. She beat a Japanese contestant by 15:10 in the Octo-final. Although she lost to a Japanese contestant in the Quarter-Final, she was awarded a bronze medal.
